Councillor Pratikshya Gurung
Pratikshya lives in West Reading and has worked as a nurse at the Royal Berkshire Hospital for over 10 years, caring for people and families in the community. A mother of two, Pratikshya comes from a Gurkha family and is part of the local British - Nepalese community. Pratikshya cares deeply about West Reading, and as a Councillor, she is committed to work hard for the people who live and work locally.

Councillor Wendy Griffith
Wendy has served as a councillor for Battle Ward since 2022. In 2024, she was appointed Lead Councillor for Children’s Services, taking on responsibility for safeguarding Reading’s children, supporting Children Looked After and Care Leavers, overseeing Youth Justice, and supporting officers in the delivery of the Best Start in Life strategy. Wendy is committed to giving children and families in Reading the best possible start in life, a guiding principle of the Labour Movement.

Councillor Amjad Tarar
Amjad has been serving as a councillor in the Battle Ward since May 2023. He is a Planning Committee Member and Vice Chair of the Licencing Committee. You can always find Amjad visiting residents on the doorsteps, listening to their views and working tirelessly to build bridges between residents and the council to resolve their issues. He is determined to eradicate the scourge of anti-social behaviour and fly-tipping. He also loves planting trees and is a true champion of a cleaner, greener and safer Reading.
