Hemdean House School closed last year, leaving a substantial site with lots of mature trees available for development. The land is designated in our Local Plan for residential use. The old school house was recently approved for local listing to give more protection to this fine old building. Also many of the old mature trees are protected.
Recently, Churchill Living published their proposals for building retirement units there, though at the time of writing no formal planning application has been received. You can look and comment on the proposals on the Churchill Living site.
