Minster Ward
About the Ward
Minster is an electoral ward of the Borough of Reading, in the English county of Berkshire. It south-west of the town centre, straddling the canalised River Kennet. It is bordered clockwise by Battle, Abbey, Katesgrove, Whitley and Southcote wards.
As with all wards, apart from smaller Mapledurham, it elects three councillors to Reading Borough Council. Elections since 2004 are held by thirds, with elections in three years out of four.
Since 2010 a Labour Party or Labour and Co-operative Party candidate has won every election.
These Councillors are currently, in order of election: Paul Gittings (Lab), Liz Terry (Lab and Coop) and Marian Livingston (Lab).

Marian Livingston
My hobbies are painting and music and when I have time I like to watch Reading play. I am a widow with two children and four grandchildren. As a retired teacher it was a natural choice to become a Governor at two local schools.
I have lived in Reading Borough for 32 years. Since retiring from full time work I have become more involved with my local community.
Now, as a Borough Councillor elected in May 2010,and re-elected in 2014 for a second term, I am happy to say that I am busier than ever. I was Lead Councillor for Culture and Sport for two consecutive years and following that I was privileged to serve as Mayor 2013/2014 , which was a very great honour.
