Councillor Liz Terry
Liz started her career in local government as a temporary pay and display clerk at the council, and has lived in Reading all her life. Her career saw her become assistant chief executive at Slough Borough Council and executive director at Oldham Metropolitan Council. Following that, Liz became the chief executive of Berkshire Women's Aid for seven years. First elected to the council in 2012, Councillor Liz Terry became leader of Reading Borough Council in May 2024.

Councillor Paul Gittings
First elected in 2002, Paul has held a number of positions on the council and currently serves as Lead Councillor for Adult Social Care as well as Deputy Mayor. Paul also represents the council on the Royal Berkshire Fire Authority. Away from council duties, Paul is a keen sportsman and represents GB in the age group triathlon team, racing at World and European championships. Paul is proud to be president of the Reading Cygnets Swimming Club and a trustee of Berkshire Outdoor Education Trust.

Ellie Emberson
Ellie grew up in Coley, attending Coley Primary School followed by Prospect School. She was elected as Reading’s youngest ever female councillor in 2018. Ellie has served as the Lead Councillor for Corporate Services for a total of nearly 5 years. As Lead Councillor for Housing, Ellie led on the council’s largest house building programme in a generation. Ellie is committed as a ward campaigner and has helped hundreds of residents with local issues.
