There were seven ash trees located in front of the Caversham Court allotment wall that had been severely affected by Ash Dieback. There is no cure for Ash Dieback. Reading Borough Council worked in consultation with ecological experts, but sadly they had to be removed.

The trees were causing further structural damage to the adjacent wall which is listed and in need of substantial repair.

We hope that this repair work can start in the near future once funding has been confirmed.  The trees will be replaced but not immediately as it is more sensible to complete the repair works to the wall first.  Suitable trees will then be selected and planted.

Stay up-to-date by getting in touch with your local Caversham Labour Team as they continue to monitor repairs.
