Two Young Labour Members going to conference
Reading District and Labour Party met Thursday 15 March to discuss conference arrangements for the 2018 Labour conference which is to be held in Liverpool. The executive committee made the decision based on reports from delegates who attended conference in 2017 to select a male and female delegate to represent the Reading West CLP and the Reading East CLP.
Reading and District Labour Party supported Oliver White to represent the Reading East CLP and Ellie Emberson to represent the Reading West CLP.
Ellie said: “I am very happy to have been chosen to attend conference for a second year. Last year I gained the contacts and experience needed to help build Reading Young Labour. I had a very enjoyable time and met with many key figures within the Labour party, notably Jeremy Corbyn. This year I hope to continue my networking with other members and bring back more for RDLP to engage with”
Oliver said: “I am thrilled to have been selected as a Reading East delegate to Labour’s annual conference. As one of the two members of Reading Young Labour representing our town’s constituencies, I believe we can have a strong consideration of the benefits that Young Labour would like to see us gain from conference. Throughout the conference, the events I attend and the contacts I will aim to gather will have the improvement of Reading Young Labour in mind.”
