Mohammed has lived in Reading for over fifty years and has served three terms as Councillor in Abbey ward, where he lives. In 2016 he served proudly as Mayor. A busy and active ward Councillor, unofficially, Mohammed also enjoys a reputation as being the "Nicest Councillor" in Reading!
Paul has represented Labour in Minster Ward since 2002 and works tirelessly alongside fellow ward councillors Liz Terry and Ellie Emberson to improve the area for the benefit of local residents.
I have lived in Reading, North of the River for most of my life. Since returning to Reading from university I have been an active campaigner for decent public services in our town. I have dedicated my time to my community by attending consultations on local political issues and regularly consulting with residents on their concerns.
Benjamin if your candidate in Thames Ward, having been a community campaigner for over 10 years and is fighting for true representation for the Caversham community.
Micky says, “Many people are fed up with the Government and national politics. I want to show that local elected representatives can stand up for their communities.”
Chris has been your Labour Councillor since 2001 and has worked with fellow Councillors Gul Khan and Sarah Hacker to deliver many projects that have helped make Battle ward a great place to live.
Liam has spent the last three years living in Reading, first in Katesgrove over on Highgrove Street and now just over the river near Coley. He has always enjoyed this vibrant, welcoming area, and he remain passionate about it
Graeme has been your Labour councillor in Norcot for 19 years since 2000. He lives in the ward with his wife and two daughters, both of whom are at local schools.
Boubacar is a Teacher who made the UK his home 16 years ago after he came from France to carry on with his studies. In 2010, he moved to Reading. He has now decided to further his commitment to his local community by seeking to become and candidate for Thames Ward and do everything he can to safeguard and improve the quality of life people enjoy locally.
Ayo is a Civil Engineer and is passionate about the transformative power of engineering to change. She shares this passion through mentoring programmes. Ayo proactively seeks to make a positive contribution to her community by volunteering and charity work.
Former Kentwood Labour Councillor Glenn has remained very active in Kentwood as a local campaigner working with residents and has been campaigning for a lift at Tilehurst station. He raised a petition of over 1200 signatures in support of the lift.
Amjad Tarar is a local Lawyer and is a hard working Labour Member who has lived in Reading for 14 years. He lives and works in Park Ward and undertakes a range of voluntary work with the local community. He is keenly involved in a number of local initiatives and he enjoys wide support in all sections of the community.
Jason has been your Labour Councillor in Southcote for since 2016 and has worked together with councillors Debs Edwards and John Ennis to support the community.
Alison is hard-working wife and mother who has lived in Reading for 17 years. Most of her career has been in the NHS and she now owns a small business in change management and improvement. Alison is involved in a range of voluntary work and her work in mental health saw her win a Pride of Reading Award in 2017.
