Conservatives Slash Reading’s Community Safety Funding, Reading Labour Invests In Youth Provision

The Conservative Police and Crime Commissioner, with the backing of Reading Conservatives, has cut Reading’s Community Safety Funding by over 52%. Reading Labour is fighting to reverse this. The impact of this Tory cut for neighbourhoods and safety across the town are serious and affect us all.

Despite the savage cuts, we know that tackling crime and anti-social behaviour needs to begin in our communities. That’s why Reading Labour are bringing back more youth workers across the town to work with community groups launching youth clubs and activities. Once more, Labour gives back what the Tory Government takes away.
