Reading LGBT Labour

Reading LGBT Labour includes all members that identify anywhere on the LGBT Spectrum.  We have close links with local LGBT partners such as Support U and Reading Pride, as well as links into LGBT Labour nationally and major networks such as Stonewall, Trans Media Watch and other national charities.

We’ve recently setup social media feeds on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram so please follow those and share out our content to help grow the membership.  We’re very active within the local LGBT scene and always looking for new members to assist and help us with activities so please drop us a line!

Ryan Sheehan – LGBT Officer

Our current LGBT Officer is Ryan Sheehan. Ryan has lived in Reading his whole life.

Ryan identifies as gay and lives happily with his partner.

Ryan is a supporter of local sports clubs, such as Reading Football Club, and believes sport should be everyone’s game.

Ryan serves as a police support volunteer and has been a part of numerous hate crime awareness days. Ryan believes that through celebrating diversity we can help ensure equality.

As LGBT Officer Ryan is committed to campaigning for the law on LGBT hate crimes to be brought into line with hate crimes based on race & faith, working with Councillors to make Reading Borough Council a Stonewall accredited employer and being an advocate of Reading’s LGBT+  Community.

Ryan also supports local homeless charity Launchpad by fundraising for them and giving up his free time to help out at events.
